I grew up in a little town just outside of Preston in Lancashire where I spent many years being, well, a teenager. Just before I turned 18, in 2002, I moved up to Arbroath in Scotland where I’ve been ever since.
I’m married with 2 children and a step-son too. Trust me, all of that keeps me quite busy!
I’ve been playing around with cameras for many years, it’s something I’ve become quite fond of doing. After a short spell in college and further learning the in’s and out’s of taking decent photographs I came up with the wild notion of starting this photography malarkey as a career. So one day I woke up, went on the internet and registered myself with the HMRC…making myself a self-employed freelance photographer.
These days I’m armed with a pretty good camera…yeah I’m a Nikon guy by the way. I also have my own little studio with a decent lighting setup provided by Bowens. Sadly Bowens are no longer around, but it’s their equipment that I learnt the basics of studio photography with.
I’m a bit of a motorsport fan with a definite preference to British Touring Cars. If you haven’t seen it, ITV4 will provide you with a sufficient education. I enjoy taking an annual trip to Knockhill to spend the day watching and photographing the action. I’d love to get a bit closer to the action though.
I enjoy the occasional session of studio photography, recently I’ve been researching more creative ideas which I’ll put into practice soon. I’m fortunate enough to have some small in-house models in the form of my sometimes-reluctant children. I’ve got a few weddings under my belt too. I don’t mind doing the occasional one, though there’s no way I would do it exclusively!
Anyway, that’s the basics. If you’re looking for a photographer who does Portraits, events, sports and weddings at a reasonable price then drop me a line, either through my contact form or by ‘liking’ my Facebook page and sending me a message there! I like to think I’m a friendly guy, so let’s have a chat!
