Yeah okay, it’s been a while since I wrote anything. I’ve been busy, though I don’t know what I’ve actually been doing. Family life I guess. Aside from that, we’ve been to some gigs. 30 Seconds To Mars and Theory of a Deadman. We also went to see Evanescence, Amy Lee’s voice is incredible.
We’ve managed to book some holidays too, the first one, which I wouldn’t really class as a holiday, more like a few days away in the Lake District. Then we are off to Portugal for a week in April, which I’m really looking forward too. A whole week of all-inclusive beer and gin and a whole load of photographs will be taken. In July we are going back to Disneyland Paris, the downside is that I have to drive.
I’ve been playing around with different styles of photography too, studio-based but without the backdrop. It gave me a chance to work with different ways of using the lighting, different posing etc.
It’s back to Knockhill in August, BTCC…loads of photographs. Next year I’m hoping to get hold of a 500 or 600mm lens and then go and knock on doors. See if I can get closer to the action.
I’m off to hospital next week, quick op to cut some lumps out of my chest. Nothing serious though…or at least that’s what the doctors are saying just now, but seeing as they somehow missed a broken collarbone and a broken hip I don’t hold out much hope!
The living room/studio has been given a much needed makeover too, I’m happy with the result, it’s a bit brighter now.
Mental Health Awareness week has been and gone, I try to pay attention to it as I suffer from Bipolar Disorder, which I don’t shy away from, besides it’s what got me more into photography. Being creative is an escape for me, that’s why I enjoy it. I remember after my brother was killed I wandered off and took a load of photographs, they were all terrible but it helped for 10 minutes. I did the same after my mum passed away. I don’t think I’d be this into photography it I didn’t have Bipolar Disorder. Things do still get incredibly hard now and then, sometimes it’s hard to cope and there aren’t enough photographs in the world I can take to help. I’ve got type 2 Bipolar as well, which is a rapid cycle…that makes things a bit more interesting as well as incredibly frustrating.
This weekend is going to be spent teaching Riley to ride a bike properly without stabilisers, I’ll be chuffed to bits if he manages it.
Anyway, I’ll blog again when I have something interesting to say, so probably next year! Here’s some photographs. Oh, and I’m not apologising for the boobs, she has great ones.
